Our History

Our transformation experience begins in 1989, year of the foundation of the company, in Valle del Cauca - Colombia.

For decades, the quality and specialization of our products and services have
positioned us as the leading brand in manufacturing and supplying poles in Latin America.
We have evolved hand in hand with qualified human resource, which is distributed in 5 production plants in Colombia, 1 plant in Peru and a commercial branch in Panama; which have contributed to the growth of Dimel Ingeniería for more than 35 years.

Our History of Innovation and Growth

FOUNDATION OF THE COMPANY
In October, we started with electrical design and assembly projects for private constructions
ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS
The company ventures into the commercialization of electrical products, with the manufacture of metal-mechanical products such as electrical and telephone hardware. The company is positioned in the national electrical market.
ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS
The first polygonal truncated cone-shaped galvanized steel poles are manufactured under the DIPOLE brand. The first export of steel poles is made.
RL STRUCTURES
The company “Estructuras RL” is acquired in Cali, with a 60% participation for the manufacture of metallic structures. The company “Estructuras RL” begins to provide civil works services through the company “Estructuras RL”.
ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS
The first polygonal truncated conical poles are manufactured in galvanized steel, under the DIPOLE brand. The first export of steel poles is carried out.
CIVIL WORKS
The company diversifies into a new Strategic Business Unit, electrical works, responsible for the assembly of high, medium and low voltage electrical networks. Estructuras RL” is incorporated to Dimel Ingenieria and the Civil Works and Metallic Structures SBU is created.
DIGALVA WAS STARTED
Hot dip galvanizing services are opened to the market, as a diversification strategy of Dimel Ingenieria created under the brand DIGALVA.
FRV POLES MANUFACTURING
The production plant of fiberglass poles was opened in the municipality of Yumbo, based on the diversification strategy of the portfolio.
REBRANDING
The corporate image is renewed to a more modern one and the complete system of ISO certifications is obtained. The Civil Works SBU is retired. New FRP plant in Sibaté, Colombia.
PGT/SAP
Plant set-up to focus on Large Poles projects as a growth plan. SAP implementation and operation to improve company processes.
NEW PRODUCTION PLANT FRP
A new fiberglass poles production plant was opened in Peru, in order to provide a more direct service to South America. More FRV lines are opened in Colombia.
PANAMA OFFICE
Commercial office is opened in Panama with the objective of giving more attention to the countries of Central America and the Caribbean. Multicompany certification is achieved with the complete system of ISO certifications.
